Our Services

Sports Recovery Acupuncture

Sports Recovery Acupuncture treatments are your tune ups to keep your body strong, fresh, and recovered after training and workouts. They are like the service and oil change you would get for your car but are for your body, muscles, and joints.

Sessions are catered to meet your individual needs to maximize your training and athletic results. Every session includes an assessment and diagnostic testing to determine how to get you the best results based on your current condition at the time of your treatment.

Orthopedic Acupuncture

Orthopedic Acupuncture treatments are like your medication for aches, pains, and injuries except without the drugs, pills, or surgery. It’s all natural. All natural may not be the quickest solution as it can take some time based on how long you’ve had the condition or the severity of the condition.

The goal is for you to get long term results by teaching your body to heal itself. Once you’ve taught your body how to heal itself, you’ll move to the next step of self-care, maintenance, and preventative care with Sports Recovery Acupuncture.

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW MANY ORTHOPEDIC ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

The majority of patients will experience improvement the very first time they come in.

Acupuncture is a very personal medicine. How many treatments you need is determined by the severity of your condition and how long you have been experiencing the condition. How I like to describe acupuncture is it is like going to the gym. If you go once you’ll feel good but if you don’t go back you won’t build on the benfits of your previous treatments.

Generally speaking I like to tell my patients:

  • For simple and straight forward conditions that are not chronic we usually see improvement in about 4-6 appointments.

  • For more chronic injuries or conditions, it will take anywhere from 10-12 appointments.

  • For long term, chronic case it can take up to 20 appointments to see a significant change or stabilization of your symptoms.

DO YOU RE-USE THE NEEDLES?

Needles are packaged individually for one time use and disposed of as medical waste.

IS THERE MEDICINE ON THE NEEDLES?

Needles do not have any medicine coating.

The needles raise levels of physiological or nervous activity to your brain stimulating your body to heal naturally by itself.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Although we do not accept insurance, we gladly accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.

How does acupuncture work?

Acupuncture naturally stimulates the body to improve blood flow and circulation, secrete hormones, antibodies, and white blood cells to aid in:

  • Speeding up training and injury recovery

  • Loosening tight muscles

  • Decreasing pain

  • Improving sleep

  • Decreasing stress

  • Improving Mental Focus

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

There are no side effects from acupuncture. In fact in China patients will go to acupuncture everyday until they get better. On occasion, a needle may cause slight bruising.

DOES ACUPUNCTURE HURT?

Acupuncture needles are as thin as a hair. Ten times thinner than a needle used to draw blood. One should never feel pain or discomfort. You may experience a tap feeling first then some warming, tingling, and numbness sensation thereafter. The majority of people enjoy the sensation of acupuncture and more than 75% of my patients feel extremely relaxed and fall asleep during their treatment.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY ACUPUNCTURE APPOINTMENT?

It is recommended to wear loose fitting clothes preferably shorts and a t-shirt or tank top.
